Rep. Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 24th district, has been vocal on several issues through her recent tweets. Tenney, who has served in Congress since 2021 and previously in the New York State Assembly, addressed topics ranging from pension restoration to local community support and historical recognition.
On February 14, 2025, Rep. Tenney expressed her concern over the treatment of Delphi Salaried Retirees whose pensions were reduced in 2009. She stated that these retirees were “egregiously wronged” by the Obama administration when their pensions were “unjustly slashed.” Tenney highlighted the Susan Muffley Act as a legislative effort to rectify this situation by restoring the affected pensions. “The Delphi Salaried Retirees were egregiously wronged in 2009 when their hard-earned pensions were unjustly slashed, through no fault of their own, by the Obama administration.”
On February 15, 2025, she acknowledged a meeting with the Firefighters Association of the State of New York. In her tweet, she thanked them for discussing ways to enhance support for local fire departments and commended their dedication to safety in NY-24. “Thank you to the Firefighters Association of the State of New York for meeting with me this week to discuss ways we can enhance our support for our local fire departments.”
Later that day, Tenney commemorated Susan B. Anthony Day by highlighting its significance to NY-24 due to its historical connection with the National Woman Suffrage Movement’s beginnings in Seneca Falls. She invited others to join her in honoring Susan B. Anthony as a champion of women’s voting rights on her birthday. “The National Woman Suffrage Movement began in Seneca Falls, in NY-24, making Susan B. Anthony Day even more significant to our community.”
