U.S. Representative Claudia Tenney, who serves New York’s 24th district in Congress, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing state energy policy, the anniversary of a major terrorist attack, and allegations of foreign interference in local politics.
On August 26, 2025, Tenney highlighted rising utility costs for upstate families: “Great piece by @SenatorOrtt: Upstate families now face a 15% hike on National Grid bills. That means more than $200 a year taken from every household. Hochul’s mandates created this crisis & Albany Democrats rubber stamp the madness.”
Later that day, she marked the fourth anniversary of the Abbey Gate terrorist attack during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan: “Today marks 4 years since the horrific terrorist attack at Abbey Gate in Kabul. This tragedy was not inevitable. It was the direct result of Biden’s reckless withdrawal from Afghanistan, which abandoned Americans, armed the Taliban, and left our heroes vulnerable. We pray for”
On August 27, Tenney addressed concerns about foreign influence in New York politics: “The Chinese consulate in NYC directed more than 50 groups to back Beijing’s allies and sink critics of the regime. A former aide to Hochul conspired with them. The CCP is interfering in New York politics and wants to take down Republicans. Every American should be concerned.”
Claudia Tenney has represented New York’s 24th District since replacing Anthony Brindisi in Congress in 2021 and previously served in the New York State Assembly between 2011 and 2016. Born in New Hartford, New York in 1961 and currently residing in Canandaigua at age 62, Tenney holds degrees from Colgate University (BA) and the University of Cincinnati (JD).
