Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 24th district, recently shared her views on various issues through social media posts. Her statements reflect her ongoing political activities and personal engagements.
On June 16, 2025, Claudia Tenney criticized Governor Hochul for allegedly misrepresenting the financial impact of illegal immigration on New Yorkers. She stated that “Governor Hochul is LYING about the cost of illegal immigration to New Yorkers.” According to Tenney, $7 billion has been spent in recent years on various provisions for illegal immigrants. She urged Governor Hochul to prioritize the interests of New Yorkers.
Later that day, Tenney celebrated a significant milestone for a personal acquaintance. She expressed her best wishes by tweeting “Happy 103rd birthday to my dear friend, Gene Gerrard!” Highlighting his background as a WWII U.S. Coast Guard veteran and community volunteer, she praised Gerrard’s contributions and legacy within NY-24 and America.
On June 17, 2025, Tenney addressed concerns regarding Social Security amidst political discourse. In response to Democratic assertions, she tweeted “Democrats keep fearmongering.” She assured constituents that Republicans are not planning cuts to Social Security and announced the reintroduction of the Social Security Protection Act to support those who have earned these benefits.
Claudia Tenney has served in Congress since replacing Anthony Brindisi in 2021. Born in New Hartford in 1961 and currently residing in Canandaigua, she holds degrees from Colgate University and the University of Cincinnati.
