Representative Claudia Tenney, who has served New York’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021 and previously held a seat in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016, recently addressed several policy issues on social media. Tenney, born in New Hartford, New York in 1961 and currently residing in Canandaigua, holds degrees from Colgate University and the University of Cincinnati.
On July 14, 2025, Tenney commented on President Trump’s immigration policies, stating “President Trump is taking the strongest action in 30+ years to stop illegal aliens from abusing taxpayer-funded benefits. Hardworking Americans shouldn’t bear the costs of illegal aliens receiving free handouts. Under Trump, taxpayer dollars go to citizens, period.”
The following day, July 15, 2025, Tenney responded to an Irish legislative proposal regarding trade with Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. She wrote “Ireland’s proposal to ban products made in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria is not only deeply anti-Semitic but antithetical to Western values. As the Chair and Founder of the Friends of Judea & Samaria Caucus, I call on @dfatirl to rescind this radical proposal”.
Also on July 15, Tenney posted a tweet containing only a link: “https://t.co/INeaCeOh7h”.
Claudia Tenney has represented New York’s 24th District since replacing Anthony Brindisi in Congress in 2021. She was born in New Hartford and currently lives in Canandaigua. Tenney graduated from Colgate University with a BA and earned her JD from the University of Cincinnati.
