Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 24th district since 2021, has recently expressed her views on several issues through social media posts. With a background in law and previous experience in the New York State Assembly, Tenney’s statements reflect her legislative priorities and concerns.
On June 3, 2025, Tenney addressed the issue of Medicaid misuse in states like New York. She stated that “States like New York are abusing Medicaid. 8 million are enrolled—but only 5 million are actually eligible. That’s millions in wasted taxpayer dollars.” She highlighted “The One Big Beautiful Bill” as a measure to protect Medicaid for those truly in need while targeting waste, fraud, and abuse.
Later that day, Tenney turned her attention to the rise of anti-Semitic incidents in the United States. In another post dated June 3, she remarked on the alarming statistics from 2024: “In 2024, the U.S. saw 9,354 anti-Semitic incidents—an 893% increase over the past decade.” She emphasized that “Anti-Semitism has no place in America,” urging that “Never again must truly mean never again.”
Additionally, Tenney commented on President Trump’s Rescission Package aimed at reducing government spending deemed unnecessary or excessive. On June 3, she shared her support for cutting funds allocated to various programs: “President Trump’s Rescission Package slashes billions in wasteful, woke spending…” The package targets funding for NPR & PBS among others and aims to prioritize American taxpayers’ interests.
Claudia Tenney was born in New Hartford, New York in 1961 and currently resides in Canandaigua. A graduate of Colgate University with a BA and holding a JD from the University of Cincinnati since 1987.
