Claudia Tenney, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 24th district, has been active on social media discussing various issues. Serving since 2021 after replacing Anthony Brindisi, Tenney brings attention to topics ranging from local crime rates to international religious milestones.
On May 7, 2025, Tenney highlighted concerns regarding crime rates in New York City. She stated that “Over 3,200 migrants staying in taxpayer-funded shelters in NYC were arrested for more than 16,000 crimes between Jan 2023 & Oct 2024.” She criticized New York Democrats for sheltering these individuals at taxpayers’ expense and called for sanctuary cities to comply with certain measures.
The following day, May 8, she expressed her views on pro-life policies by emphasizing support for mothers and their children throughout life. In collaboration with Rep. Fischbach, she introduced the MOMS Act. According to her post: “Being pro-life means supporting mothers & their babies during every phase of life.”
Also on May 8, Tenney celebrated a significant event within the Catholic community—the election of Pope Leo XIV as the first American pope. She joined many Catholics worldwide in celebrating this historic occasion: “Habemus Papam! Pope Leo XIV is the first American pope!”
Claudia Tenney was born in New Hartford, New York in 1961 and currently resides in Canandaigua. Her educational background includes a BA from Colgate University and a JD from the University of Cincinnati.
