Later that day, at 4:00 p.m. UTC, Tenney commented on New York City politics following a violent incident in the city: “Zohran Mamdani spent years trying to defund the police. Now, after the deadliest shooting in New York City in 25 years, he wants to pretend he backs law enforcement. New York cannot afford a mayor who plays politics with public safety.”

Claudia Tenney has served as representative for New York’s 24th District since defeating Anthony Brindisi in 2021 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford, New York in 1961, she resides in Canandaigua and holds degrees from Colgate University (BA) and the University of Cincinnati (JD).
