U.S. Representative Claudia Tenney, who represents New York’s 24th district, addressed topics ranging from political ideology to state spending and small business policy in a series of social media posts between May 13 and May 14, 2026.
On May 13, Tenney commented on the influence of socialist politicians in New York City, stating: “100%. When socialists like Mamdani gain influence, that ideology doesn’t stay in NYC. It spreads. These people aren’t progressive. They’re regressive. Their ideas threaten the very foundation of our country, and that should concern every American.”
Later that day, she criticized New York State’s handling of Medicaid and called for stricter voting eligibility measures: “New York’s fraud, waste, and abuse are legendary. No other state spends more per capita on Medicaid. We have to make sure citizens vote, non-citizens do not, and that eligibility is verified.”
The following day, Tenney highlighted legislation aimed at supporting small businesses: “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. The RISE Act helps micro-businesses offer retirement plans by fixing gaps in existing tax credits and expanding access for service providers.”
Claudia Tenney has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Anthony Brindisi as representative for New York’s 24th district. She previously held office in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford in 1961 and currently residing in Canandaigua at age 62, Tenney graduated from Colgate University with a BA in 1983 before earning her JD from the University of Cincinnati in 1987.
