Rep. Claudia Tenney, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 24th district, recently shared her views on several topics through a series of tweets. Tenney, who has been in office since 2021 after replacing Anthony Brindisi, is known for her active engagement on social media platforms.
On June 4, 2025, Tenney commemorated the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre by highlighting the actions of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). She stated, “36 years ago today, the Chinese Communist Party massacred students protesting for democracy in the Tiananmen Square Massacre. The depravity & brutality of the CCP knows no bounds.” She further expressed solidarity with those opposing CCP’s policies.
Later that day, Tenney celebrated National Fishing & Boating Week with a tweet directed at her constituents in New York’s 24th district. She remarked on the region’s natural beauty and recreational opportunities: “Happy National Fishing & Boating Week, NY-24! From the breathtaking Finger Lakes to the shores of Lake Ontario, we’re lucky to call some of the best fishing & boating spots in the country home.”
On June 5, 2025, Tenney voiced criticism towards NPR CEO Katherine Maher regarding NPR’s political stance. She tweeted her skepticism about NPR’s non-partisan claim: “NPR CEO Katherine Maher’s claim that NPR is non-partisan is laughable. Defund NPR!”
Claudia Tenney was born in New Hartford, New York in 1961 and currently resides in Canandaigua. She graduated from Colgate University and earned a JD from the University of Cincinnati.
