Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congress representative for New York’s 24th district, has been vocal on several issues through her recent tweets. Her social media activity reflects her positions on international relations, education, and the arts.
On May 9, 2025, Tenney expressed strong criticism of the United Nations’ decision to recognize the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as a member. She stated that “The UN is rife with anti-Semitism, & its decision to recognize the Palestine Liberation Organization, a terrorist group, as a member is abhorrent.” She highlighted the NOPE Act, which aims to withhold federal funding from any entity recognizing the Palestinian Authority or PLO as members.
Later that day, Tenney congratulated Kelli Elyse Dingle from Orleans/Niagara BOCES for winning the 2025 Congressional Art Contest. She announced that “We are thrilled to have Kelli’s artwork, Fried Eggs, hung in the halls of the Capitol.”
On May 10, 2025, Tenney commented on legislation passed by House Republicans aimed at preventing Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence in American universities. She tweeted that “.@HouseGOP passed legislation to keep the CCP from infiltrating our college campuses.” The legislation requires universities with connections to the CCP to sever those ties immediately.
Claudia Tenney has been serving in Congress since replacing Anthony Brindisi in 2021. Prior to this role, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford and currently residing in Canandaigua, she holds degrees from Colgate University and the University of Cincinnati.
