Rep. Claudia Tenney, Chair of the House Election Integrity Caucus and U.S. Representative for New York’s 24th district, announced a series of legislative initiatives and made statements on property rights and socialism in a set of tweets posted on July 17, 2025.
In her first tweet, Tenney stated: “As Chair of the House Election Integrity Caucus, I’m honored to unveil three key bills to secure our elections by:
Stopping foreign interference
Blocking tax-funded partnerships with activist groups to harvest votes
Banning non-citizens from voting” (July 17, 2025).
Later that day, Tenney addressed proposals by Mamdani regarding private property. She wrote: “Mamdani wants to abolish private property. This isn’t just radical, it’s un-Constitutional.
Private property is the foundation of freedom, opportunity, and the American Dream. We must defend it from these dangerous Marxist ideas.” (July 17, 2025).
Shortly after, she continued her criticism with another post: “This is what Mamdani’s socialism will lead to: tent cities, rising crime, public drug use, & human trafficking.” (July 17, 2025).
Claudia Tenney has represented New York’s 24th District in Congress since replacing Anthony Brindisi in 2021. Prior to her current role in Congress, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford in 1961 and currently residing in Canandaigua at age 62, Tenney holds a BA from Colgate University and a JD from the University of Cincinnati.
