On July 8, Rep. Tenney addressed the topic of Medicaid work requirements, stating “Democrats are either lying or don’t understand Medicaid work requirements.” She expressed skepticism about the understanding or intentions of Democrats regarding this policy area.
Later that day, she commented on a meeting between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, highlighting their efforts toward peace in the Middle East. She stated “President Trump & Prime Minister Netanyahu don’t just talk about peace, they deliver it.” Tenney noted the meeting as a significant step towards defeating Hamas and restoring regional stability and mentioned her nomination of these leaders for a Nobel Peace Prize.
In another tweet on the same day, Tenney welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to the United States Capitol. She emphasized the importance of U.S.-Israel relations by saying “Congressional Republicans stand alongside Israel in their fight to secure peace, & protect democracy & innocent lives.” Her statement underscores her support for strong bilateral ties with Israel.
Claudia Tenney has been serving in Congress since 2021 after replacing Anthony Brindisi. Prior to this role, she was a member of the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford, New York in 1961, she currently resides in Canandaigua and holds degrees from Colgate University and the University of Cincinnati.
