Tenney, a current U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 24th district since 2021, has previously served in the New York State Assembly. She holds degrees from Colgate University and the University of Cincinnati.
On May 1, 2025, Rep. Tenney stated her position on the participation of transgender individuals in sports, citing the Trump administration’s stance that “biological men are not allowed to participate in women’s sports or invade women’s private spaces.” She stressed, “Until UPenn follows the law, the university should not be given a dime of federal funding.”
In a subsequent post on the same day, Tenney addressed the topic of manufacturing in America. She advocated for strengthening American companies to reinforce the nation’s status as a manufacturing leader. She emphasized the importance of the BASIC Act, saying, “The BASIC Act extends & expands the manufacturing investment credit, working alongside President Trump to encourage investments in the U.S. economy.”
Later, Tenney expressed her sentiments regarding diplomatic relations with Israel, coinciding with an important date for the nation. She wished Israel well for Independence Day, emphasizing their right to their homeland. She said, “The Jewish people have a right to live in their ancestral homeland, & the United States will stand with Israel as they continue to defend it.”
