Rep. Claudia Tenney, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 24th district, has shared several updates on social media regarding local developments and legislative initiatives. These updates reflect her ongoing engagement with both community achievements and broader policy efforts.
On May 14, 2025, Rep. Tenney extended her congratulations to Livingston County’s Sergeant Michael Donals and his K-9 partner, Jenko, for achieving federal certification as an Explosive Detection Team. “Congratulations to Livingston County’s Sergeant Michael Donals & his K-9, Jenko, for becoming a federally certified Explosive Detection Team.” She noted that this team is now equipped to assist in crisis response both locally and nationally.
The following day, May 15, 2025, she highlighted the economic impact of the beer industry within her district. “NY-24 is home to 5,327 beer industry jobs, from brewing & distribution to retail, agriculture, & manufacturing.” Rep. Tenney expressed support for the CHEERS Act as a measure to bolster local bars, restaurants, breweries, and related employment sectors.
Later on May 15th, Rep. Tenney announced her reintroduction of the Local Law Enforcement Protection Act aimed at preserving qualified immunity for police officers. “Law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line every day should be able to do their jobs without the constant threat of senseless lawsuits.” This legislative effort underscores her commitment to supporting law enforcement personnel.
Claudia Tenney has served in Congress since replacing Anthony Brindisi in 2021. Her political career includes prior service in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford in 1961 and currently residing in Canandaigua, she holds degrees from Colgate University and the University of Cincinnati.
