U.S. Representative Claudia Tenney, who serves New York’s 24th district in Congress, recently posted a series of statements on her social media account criticizing Democratic Party policies, New York City’s sanctuary laws, and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

On July 28, 2025, Tenney stated: “The Democrat Party just hit a 35-year low with American voters, and it’s no mystery why. They opposed the largest tax cut in history, fought against letting workers keep their tips and overtime pay, and even voted to keep taxing auto loans on American-made cars.”

Later that day, she addressed public safety concerns related to immigration policy in New York City: “NYC’s sanctuary policies cost billions and put Americans in danger. Now, an off-duty CBP officer has been shot in the face by a previously deported illegal immigrant. How many more innocent people need to be hurt before New York starts taking this seriously? Grateful to” (posted July 28, 2025).

In another post on July 28, 2025, Tenney commented on SNAP benefits: “Let’s get this straight: SNAP is for those who need help, NOT those who game the system. Only 28% of able-bodied adults on SNAP are working. Taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to fund a lifestyle for people who can work but won’t. Work requirements restore fairness and dignity. Our”.

Claudia Tenney has represented New York’s 24th district since 2021 after succeeding Anthony Brindisi in Congress. Before her current role, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford in 1961 and currently residing in Canandaigua, Tenney holds degrees from Colgate University (BA) and the University of Cincinnati (JD).
