Rep. Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 24th district since 2021, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing federal funding for Homeland Security and counterterrorism in New York, as well as the provision of healthcare to undocumented immigrants.
On October 3, 2025, Tenney expressed appreciation for former President Donald Trump’s actions regarding security funding: “Thank you, President Trump, for restoring Homeland Security & Counterterrorism funding for New York! Now Hochul and Albany Democrats need to repeal bail reform and take meaningful steps to keep our communities safe.”
The following day, October 4, she commented on healthcare policy in the state: “No matter how much Democrats & the left wing media spin it, the truth is still the TRUTH: In New York, illegal immigrants get healthcare on the taxpayer’s dime while families are stuck with the bill.”
On October 5, Tenney continued her criticism of current policies regarding government spending and immigration: “We cannot allow illegal immigrants to get healthcare while American patients are put last. It’s absurd. Democrats keeping the government shut down owe it to their constituents to stop playing games & put Americans first.”
Claudia Tenney has represented New York’s 24th District in Congress since defeating Anthony Brindisi in 2021. She previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford in 1961 and currently residing in Canandaigua, Tenney holds a BA from Colgate University (1983) and a JD from the University of Cincinnati (1987).
