U.S. Representative Claudia Tenney, who represents New York’s 24th district, used her social media account on October 2, 2025, to criticize Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries and raise concerns about government spending and policy.
In a post published at 14:16 UTC, Tenney wrote: “Hakeem Jeffries is using the goverment shutdown gimmick, which forces our troops to work without pay, to promote himself. Shameless.”
Later that day at 15:24 UTC, she stated: “Here’s the truth the media won’t tell you: NY taxpayers are being forced to spend BILLIONS on healthcare for illegal immigrants in violation of federal law. Hakeem knows VERY well how Albany works from his time in the legislature.”

Claudia Tenney has served as U.S. Representative for New York’s 24th district since 2021 after replacing Anthony Brindisi. She previously served in the New York State Assembly between 2011 and 2016 and holds degrees from Colgate University and the University of Cincinnati.
She was born in New Hartford in 1961 and currently resides in Canandaigua.
