Rep. Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 24th district since 2021, has used her social media platform to comment on recent policy debates and political actions involving sanctuary cities, law enforcement safety, and federal funding disputes.
On October 6, 2025, Tenney posted criticism of policies enacted by some city and state leaders: “While sanctuary mayors and governors side with lawless anarchists & violent illegals, Americans pay the price. Make no mistake: Americans are in real danger because of these reckless policies. If these left-wing leaders won’t uphold the law, President Trump’s @DHSgov will.”
Later that day, she referenced the mayor of Chicago in another post: “Chicago’s mayor just sided with violent criminals at a time when our law enforcement has LITERAL bounties on their heads. This is evil, reckless, & everything that’s wrong with the radical left.” The statement highlights her concern about public safety and support for law enforcement officers.
In a third post on October 6, Tenney addressed ongoing federal budget negotiations: “.@PressSec is right. Real people will feel this: federal workers, moms, infants, and our troops. If Democrats keep dragging their feet, they’ll be the ones cutting off paychecks & critical aid.”
Claudia Tenney was born in New Hartford, New York in 1961 and currently resides in Canandaigua. She holds a BA from Colgate University (1983) and a JD from the University of Cincinnati (1987). Before serving in Congress since 2021—where she succeeded Anthony Brindisi—she represented her region in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016.
