Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congress representative for New York’s 24th district since 2021, recently shared several updates via social media. Tenney, who has been involved in politics since serving in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016, expressed her appreciation and sentiments on various topics.
On May 10, 2025, Tenney thanked those who attended the Special Olympics regional basketball tournament at Niagara University. She extended her congratulations to all participants by stating: “Thank you to all the family & friends who came to NY-24 for the Special Olympics regional basketball tournament at Niagara University! Congratulations to all who participated!”
The following day, May 11, she celebrated Mother’s Day with a message honoring mothers across her district and the nation. She reflected on motherhood’s impact on families and shared personal feelings about being a mother herself: “Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers across NY-24 & our nation. Mothers are the heart & soul of every family, & today we celebrate their strength, love, & resilience. Being a Mom is one of the greatest joys of my life, & I’m incredibly grateful & inspired by my son.”
Later that day, Tenney commented on international affairs regarding American hostages held by Hamas. She acknowledged President Trump’s role in negotiations leading to an imminent release: “Eden Alexander is coming home! Thanks to President Trump’s steadfast leadership & strong negotiation skills, Hamas is set to release the final living American hostage. We will continue to pray for his impending release & the release of every single hostage.”
Claudia Tenney was born in New Hartford, New York in 1961 and currently resides in Canandaigua. She graduated from Colgate University with a BA in 1983 and earned a JD from the University of Cincinnati in 1987.
