Claudia Tenney, currently serving as a U.S. Congress representative for New York’s 24th district, has been vocal on social media about various issues affecting her constituents and the nation. Having replaced Anthony Brindisi in 2021, Tenney continues to address matters ranging from state policies to national economic strategies.
On May 16, 2025, Tenney commented on New York’s gun laws and crime rates. She stated that “New York has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet continues to suffer from high crime rates.” She criticized Governor Kathy Hochul for allegedly deflecting blame and suggested that “New Yorkers are leaving in droves thanks to Kathy Hochul’s” policies.
Later that day, Tenney highlighted her legislative efforts supporting law enforcement. She mentioned introducing several bills such as the SERVE Our Communities Act, the Law Enforcement Solidarity Act, and the Local Law Enforcement Protection Act. Her commitment was evident when she tweeted “I will continue to stand up for our law enforcement heroes in Congress!”
On May 17, 2025, Tenney praised former President Trump’s economic policies by citing decreases in prices for gas, airfare, and eggs. She emphasized this point by stating “The numbers don’t lie, President Trump’s America First economic plan is working!”
Claudia Tenney has served in Congress since 2021 after previously serving in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford and residing in Canandaigua, she holds degrees from Colgate University and the University of Cincinnati.
