Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 24th district, recently shared her perspectives on various national issues through a series of tweets. Tenney, who has been serving in Congress since 2021 and previously served in the New York State Assembly, discussed topics ranging from international students to gas prices and women’s sports.
On March 18, 2025, Rep. Claudia Tenney commented on the self-deportation of a Columbia University student who supported terrorists. She stated that this individual is “just the first of many who should be leaving our country for inciting anti-Semitism on college campuses.” Emphasizing the status of international students in the United States, she noted that “it is a privilege, not a right,” for them to stay and study in the country. “A Columbia student who supports terrorists has self-deported.”
Later that day, Tenney addressed changes in gas prices under different administrations. She noted that during President Biden’s administration, gas prices in New York rose to $5.04 but have since decreased to $3.11 from $3.37 one year ago. She attributed these changes to President Trump with the phrase “Promises made, Promises kept by President Trump!” “Under the Biden administration, gas prices in New York rose to $5.04.”
On March 19, 2025, Rep. Tenney expressed gratitude towards President Trump for his stance on women’s sports. She advocated against universities allowing biological men to participate in women’s sports and argued that non-compliant institutions should not receive federal funding. Her tweet concluded with a symbolic representation of gender differences: “XX ≠XY.” “Thank you President Trump for standing up for women & female athletics!”
