Representative Claudia Tenney, who has served New York’s 24th District in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently shared updates on legislative achievements and community events through a series of social media posts. Tenney, a Canandaigua resident with a background in law and public service, addressed topics ranging from federal legislation to local development initiatives.
On July 11, 2025, Tenney highlighted the passage of new legislation aimed at ending taxpayer-funded abortion. She stated, “The One Big Beautiful Bill Act finally ends taxpayer-funded abortion after 50 years. Thanks to this historic legislation, Americans will no longer be forced to fund the abortion industry with their hard-earned dollars.”
In another post dated July 12, 2025, Tenney discussed efforts to support small businesses through regulatory reform. She wrote, “The Timothy J. Barber Act helps small businesses in NY-24 & across America by ensuring OSHA offers better heat-safety guidance without adding red tape. I was honored to reintroduce this bill in memory of Geneseo’s Tim Barber to help prevent heat-related tragedies.”
Later that same day, Tenney congratulated a local organization on its expansion project. She said, “Congratulations to the Kenan Center in Lockport for their groundbreaking ceremony for the new multi-use recreation facility! We look forward to seeing this vision come to life and thank the entire community for coming together on this project!”
Claudia Tenney has represented New York’s 24th District since replacing Anthony Brindisi in Congress in 2021. Prior to her congressional service, she was a member of the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford in 1961 and currently residing in Canandaigua, Tenney holds degrees from Colgate University (BA) and the University of Cincinnati (JD).
