Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congress representative for New York’s 24th district since 2021, has recently shared her views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Tenney, who replaced Anthony Brindisi and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016, has voiced her concerns about volunteer fire departments, university funding policies, and federal environmental regulations.

On March 13, 2025, Tenney highlighted the challenges faced by over 250 fire departments in NY-24 due to declining volunteer numbers. She stated that more support is needed for these departments and promoted the No Tax on LOSAP Act as a measure to “raise the tax-exemption threshold to honor their service & encourage volunteers to join!” The tweet can be accessed here.

Later that day, she addressed university funding policies with specific reference to Columbia University. Tenney asserted that defunding such institutions is necessary if they allow “horrific anti-Semitic protests & demonstrations” and advocated for withholding taxpayer funding from them. Her statement is available here.

In another tweet on March 13, she criticized the Biden administration’s Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule for granting excessive power to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). According to Tenney, this rule allowed bureaucrats too much control over farmers’ and landowners’ activities on private property. She praised President Trump and EPA Administrator Zeldin’s efforts to reverse what she termed as “out-of-control federal overreach.” This tweet can be found here.
