Rep. Claudia Tenney, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 24th district, has recently shared a series of statements via social media addressing various legislative and community issues.
On May 11, 2025, Rep. Tenney expressed her stance on taxpayer funding for gender transition procedures by stating that “66% of Americans do not want their tax dollars spent on gender mutilation surgeries.” She announced the introduction of the No Gender Subsidies for Transition Procedures Act to ban such funding.
The following day, May 12, she marked National Police Week with gratitude towards law enforcement officers in her district. In her post, she conveyed appreciation by saying “Happy National Police Week! Thank you to all the law enforcement officers in NY-24 who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe.” She affirmed her commitment to supporting legislation that backs law enforcement efforts.
Later on May 12, Rep. Tenney addressed legislative developments concerning a bill associated with former President Trump. She stated that “Democrats are working day & night to kill President Trump’s big beautiful bill that would prevent a massive tax hike on hardworking Americans.” She emphasized that opposing this bill equates to supporting increased taxes on American citizens.
Claudia Tenney has been an active political figure since replacing Anthony Brindisi in Congress in 2021. Her career includes previous service in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Born in New Hartford and currently residing in Canandaigua, Tenney is a graduate of Colgate University and holds a JD from the University of Cincinnati.
