Born in New Hartford, New York, and currently residing in Canandaigua, Tenney has been an active political figure with a background that includes serving in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016.
On May 21, 2025, Rep. Tenney expressed her support for economic growth initiatives via Twitter. She stated that “The 2017 Trump Tax Cuts resulted in unprecedented growth & the One Big Beautiful Bill will do the exact same thing.” According to Tenney, this legislation is poised to deliver a robust economy and represents a “once-in-a-generation opportunity.”
