Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, who represents New York’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress, has introduced her 2025 Tax Plan aimed at reducing costs for families and supporting small businesses and family farms in the region. The announcement was made in Oswego, New York.
Tenney is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and played a role in shaping President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The legislation, signed into law on July 4, 2025, builds upon previous tax reforms by maintaining lower tax rates, removing certain IRS rules, reducing taxes on tips and overtime pay, and providing new relief measures for seniors, families, and small businesses.
Tenney is currently the only Republican from New York who voted for both of President Trump’s major tax reform bills. Her newly released plan details how these changes are expected to benefit constituents in NY-24 and outlines areas where she believes Congress should continue to act.
“My mission has always been to put New York taxpayers first,” said Congresswoman Tenney. “This plan rewards work, protects family businesses, and gives families more control over their hard-earned money. I’ll never stop fighting to make our tax code work for small business and families across NY-24.”
Claudia Tenney has represented New York’s 24th district since 2021 after replacing Anthony Brindisi. She previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Tenney was born in New Hartford, New York in 1961 and currently resides in Canandaigua. She graduated from Colgate University with a BA in 1983 and earned a JD from the University of Cincinnati in 1987.
