Niagara County Community College ranked 68th in average coaching salary among New York post-secondary institutions in 2024, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

At that time, the college offered coaches an average salary of $29,033, with the top coaching salary reaching $34,500.

Syracuse University led New York post-secondary schools by paying the highest average coaching salary of $557,784 in 2024.

The average coaching salary across New York post-secondary institutions rose 2.9% to $52,878 in 2024, up from $51,388 the previous year.

A Knight Commission report projects that within a decade, some Power 5 football coaches will earn more than their schools spend on scholarships and medical care for all athletes. The study estimates more than $1 billion in new annual revenue from the expanded College Football Playoff and media rights deals.
