Congresswoman Claudia Tenney of New York’s 24th District has expressed her support for the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act 2025. The legislation aims to keep the government operational while supporting President Trump’s America First agenda. It passed the House with a narrow margin of 217-213.

In her statement, Congresswoman Tenney emphasized the importance of implementing President Trump’s policy priorities following his campaign last year. She noted, “House Republicans passed a Continuing Resolution today that ensures President Trump’s America First agenda will be implemented.” Tenney also highlighted concerns about potential tax increases for constituents in NY-24 if an extension of the Trump Tax Cuts is not included in future reconciliation packages.

Tenney addressed funding responsibilities, stating, “Funding the federal government is a constitutional obligation, and House Republicans have upheld that duty.” She criticized Senate Democrats for not voting on any appropriations bills and suggested their actions could lead to a government shutdown. According to Tenney, such a shutdown would negatively impact servicemembers, border security efforts by CBP and ICE, and taxpayers.

While expressing disappointment over the exclusion of her FY25 Community Project Funding requests from the CR, Tenney acknowledged that it supports essential services while aiming to reduce discretionary spending. “By freezing spending at current levels,” she said, “this clean CR is another step toward fulfilling the America First Agenda that Congressional Republicans and President Trump promised to the American people.”
