Congresswoman Claudia Tenney of New York’s 24th District expressed her approval following the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in the House of Representatives. The bill, aligned with former President Trump’s America First Agenda, passed narrowly with a vote of 215-214 and one member voting present.
Tenney stated, “The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which passed the House today, puts America First by making permanent the Trump Tax Cuts, providing ICE and the Department of Homeland Security the funding they need to build the wall and hire more agents to secure our borders, unleashing American energy production, and restoring common sense and sanity in our government.”
According to Tenney, this legislation aims to prevent what she described as “the largest tax hike in American History” by maintaining and expanding tax cuts from 2017. She claimed it would lead to significant savings for taxpayers, particularly benefiting those earning between $30,000 and $80,000 annually.
Highlighting its impact on her district, Tenney noted that NY-24 is a major agricultural area. She asserted that the bill would protect family farms from increased taxes and safeguard small businesses by preserving certain tax deductions.
The legislation also includes provisions for border security. It allocates funds to expand ICE detention centers and increase personnel while finishing construction on the border wall. Additionally, Tenney mentioned efforts within the bill aimed at reducing federal spending on specific social issues.
Tenney concluded by urging Senate support: “Now it is up to the Senate to unite around this legislation and get this One Big Beautiful Bill to the President’s desk to deliver on our promises to the American people.”
