Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has announced the appointment of Dr. Lynn-Marie Aronica as the new chief of obstetrics and gynecology, effective May 11, 2025. This move aligns with Memorial’s mission to strengthen women’s health services in the Niagara community.
Dr. Aronica has an extensive background in obstetrics and gynecology. Before this appointment, she was the Associate Chair of the OB/GYN Department at Catholic Health Mercy Hospital. Since 2020, she has worked as a general OB/GYN physician at Trinity Medical and held a position as a laborist at South Buffalo Mercy Hospital since 2017. Her experience includes a decade-long tenure as a staff physician at Mercy Hospital and maintaining a private practice.
Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2007, Dr. Aronica received her medical degree and completed her residency at SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She also holds certifications in Basic Life Support and Electronic Fetal Monitoring.
Dr. Aronica also has experience in medical education. From 2008 to 2020, she served as volunteer faculty at SUNY Buffalo, where she trained residents and medical students. Additionally, she co-chaired the MORE OB initiative from 2013 to 2015, focusing on enhancing patient safety through collaborative training and education.
Founded in 1895, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has been a long-standing institution in the Niagara community. It offers a range of inpatient services, including a cardiac/stroke unit, an ICU, a labor and delivery unit, and an Adult Inpatient Psychiatry unit. The center also operates five primary care centers and runs a large outpatient adult mental health clinic.
In collaboration with Catholic Health, Kaleida Health, and Erie County Medical Center, NFMMC operates the only cardiac catheterization laboratory in Niagara County and is home to the Golisano Medical Oncology Center.
