Rep. Claudia Tenney, who represents New York’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media criticizing Democratic lawmakers and recent political developments in New York City.
On November 4, 2025, Tenney wrote: “Democrats’ reckless obstruction will make this the longest shutdown in U.S. history. By voting no, they’re choosing illegal aliens over American citizens. The American people will remember their negligence.”
The following day, she addressed changes in city leadership: “NYC just unleashed Marxism on our state. With Zohran Mamdani as the new communist, Marxist, anti-police anarchist in town, it won’t bring progress, only collapse.” That same afternoon she continued her criticism of congressional Democrats regarding the ongoing government shutdown: “Democrats dragged out the shutdown on PURPOSE. They knew the longer it went, the more pain they could inflict, and the more useful it would be for them politically.”
Claudia Tenney has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after defeating Anthony Brindisi. She previously held office in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016 and holds degrees from Colgate University and the University of Cincinnati.
She was born in New Hartford in 1961 and currently resides in Canandaigua.
