Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congresswoman, representing New York’s 24th district, has shared several updates on her Twitter account, touching on topics from media funding to community recognition events. Elected to Congress in 2021, replacing Anthony Brindisi, Tenney is known for her outspoken political opinions and local involvement.
On May 2, 2025, Tenney expressed her views on national media funding, stating her stance with the message: “NPR (National Propaganda Radio) and PBS (Public Brainwashing Station) have been using tax dollars to push far-left narratives disguised as news. Their time to be defunded was long overdue. Thank you, President Trump!”
Later the same day, Tenney shared her participation in a local community event, tweeting: “Our team attended the West Lake Road Fire Association’s annual banquet to honor and celebrate several association members for their years of service. Congratulations to Firefighter of the Year, Jeffery Ilacqua, and former Chief Nathan Martin for your years of service.”
The following day, May 3, 2025, Tenney commemorated Autism Awareness Month by recognizing an advocate for autism on the House floor. She posted: “To commemorate Autism Awareness Month, I spoke on the House floor to recognize & honor my friend Vincent Laughlin for his unwavering advocacy for those with autism, his service on the Ulster County Planning Board, & his dedication as a volunteer firefighter. Thank you, Vincent!”
Born in New Hartford, New York, Tenney earned her BA from Colgate University in 1983 and a JD from the University of Cincinnati in 1987. Before Congress, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2016.
