On April 9, 2025, Rep. Tenney announced the introduction of the University Accountability Act, stating that it aims to impose financial penalties on colleges harboring anti-Semitic activities. Tenney, who was born in New Hartford, New York, earned her Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University and a JD from the University of Cincinnati. She currently resides in Canandaigua.
