Rob Ortt, a member of the New York State Senate and former Minority Leader, shared several updates on his social media accounts this week, touching on migration trends, community events, and religious observances.
On April 2, 2026, Ortt commented on the migration of families from New York to Florida. In his post he wrote, “Let me save you the suspense. Fed up and frustrated families who flocked to Florida after leaving New York are not coming back. They bolted for a reason. No chance they’re headed here after escaping, only to be overtaxed to pay for welfare programs.”
Later that same day, Ortt promoted an upcoming local event by stating: “Great lineup for the 2026 Lewiston Jazz Festival just dropped. I’m proud to be a sponsor of this incredible summertime event celebrating world-class talent across five stages. Don’t miss the recently announced schedule here:”
On April 3, 2026, Ortt acknowledged Good Friday with a message for Christian constituents: “Today, Christians around the globe reflect and solemnly recognize the crucifixion of Jesus Christ – wishing you all a blessed and peaceful Good Friday.”
Ortt has served as Minority Leader in the New York State Senate and is recognized for his focus on veteran reintegration efforts and support for those experiencing post-traumatic stress (source).
