Rob Ortt, a member of the New York State Senate and former Minority Leader, shared a series of posts on social media addressing topics ranging from homelessness in New York City to the Buffalo Sabres’ playoff appearance and Easter greetings.
On April 4, 2026, Ortt criticized New York City’s spending on homelessness and referenced Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani. He wrote, “Elections have consequences. You elect Commie Mamdani, this is the insanity you get. NYC spends $81,705 per homeless person. That’s more than most families earn. The result: public sex, filth, and lawlessness. Billions wasted on illegals and the homeless. Taxpayers get screwed”.
Later that day, Ortt commented on the Buffalo Sabres qualifying for the playoffs for the first time since 2011 while drawing attention to changes in the state budget over the same period. On April 4, 2026 he posted: “THE DROUGHT IS OVER! The @BuffaloSabres are in the playoffs for the first time since 2011. Also in 2011: the NYS budget was $135.5 billion. This year’s proposed budget: $260 billion. If we are going to end New York’s drought, we will need new leadership. Go Sabres.”
On April 5, 2026, Ortt marked Easter with a message to his followers: “He is Risen! As we celebrate the resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ, I’m wishing you a Happy Easter filled with peace, joy and love.”
Ortt has focused legislative efforts on veteran reintegration and support for post-traumatic stress as noted by his official biography (source).
