Dear friends,
What gets you up in the morning? I don’t mean your alarm or your morning commute or your morning routine. What is it that gets you going, that inspires you from one moment to the next? When the the author of Psalm 145 needed inspiration, he or she looked to God. So much of what we encounter throughout the day is uninspired—gossip magazines in the checkout line, mud flinging back and forth from politicians, the drudgery of corporate policies at work. It would be easy to let all those things suck the joy out of life. But then, there is God—God’s activity to bless you and keep you, God’s activity through the kindness of church friends and family, the wonder of God’s creation. This week, consider each of these things, and as the daily grind begins to hit you, let your thoughts of God and your meditation on scripture lift you up and restore your inspiration.
