New York State Senator Rob Ortt recently hosted a small business roundtable in Kendall, in collaboration with SUNY Brockport Small Business Development Center Regional Director Lindsay Ward. The event took place at The Grove 1848 and aimed to gather insights from various businesses and entrepreneurs from Orleans and Monroe County.

During the roundtable, Senator Ortt expressed his gratitude to the participants, stating, "There is no better way to learn what business owners are dealing with, both good and bad, than hearing directly from them." He also emphasized the importance of discussing the challenges and successes of businesses in Western New York, highlighting the impact of legislative changes on their operations.

Participants at the event raised concerns about issues such as increased taxes, unemployment insurance, staffing shortages, and utility costs. Senator Ortt highlighted his support for the Red Tape Reduction Act, which aims to alleviate administrative burdens on businesses by repealing existing rules to offset new costs.

Lindsay Ward, Regional Director of the SUNY Brockport Small Business Development Center, commended Senator Ortt for facilitating the roundtable discussion. Ward encouraged entrepreneurs and small business owners to utilize the resources offered by the center, emphasizing their commitment to supporting businesses across Western New York.

The collaboration between Senator Ortt and the SUNY Brockport Small Business Development Center underscores a shared dedication to assisting local businesses and fostering a supportive environment for entrepreneurship in the region.
