Claudia Tenney raises concerns about gang violence and border security

Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 24th district, recently expressed her concerns on social media regarding various issues affecting the nation. In a series of tweets, she addressed topics ranging from gang violence to border security and constituent services.

On October 22, 2024, Rep. Claudia Tenney highlighted the threat posed by the "Tren de Aragua," a violent gang linked to numerous crimes including the death of Laken Riley. She criticized current policies for enabling such gangs to remain in the country, attributing responsibility to "Border Czar Harris's policies." "Tren de Aragua, the violent gang whose member was responsible for the death of Laken Riley, & hundreds of other violent crimes across the country, will continue to threaten our communities for decades. Border Czar Harris's policies brought them here, & kept them here.…"

Later that day, she announced an upcoming event aimed at assisting constituents with federal agency-related issues. The District-Wide Day of Constituent Services is scheduled for October 24 and will offer mobile office hours for community members seeking help. "Need assistance with a federal agency? Join us for our District-Wide Day of Constituent Services on October 24, where you can get help during our mobile office hours!"

On October 23, 2024, Tenney turned her attention to border security concerns at the Northern Border. She noted an unprecedented increase in crossings at the Swanton Sector in recent years and emphasized the urgency of addressing this issue promptly. "Our Northern Border is under siege. More people crossed the Swanton Sector of our Northern Border in 2023 than in the entire period from 2012 through 2022. In FY 2024, that record has already doubled..."
