The New York State Senate Republican Conference has announced its "Liberate New York" legislative agenda for 2025, targeting what it perceives as detrimental policies by the Democratic establishment. The plan aims to prioritize affordability, public safety, and economic opportunities for New Yorkers.

Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt criticized current policies: "From endless taxes, migrant spending and out of touch energy mandates...their willingness to prioritize their political agendas over the everyday hardworking New Yorker." He highlighted issues such as crime and unfunded mandates affecting rural communities.

Deputy Republican Leader Andrew Lanza stated that Democrat policies have resulted in high inflation, crime, taxes, and energy bills. "New Yorkers deserve a new direction that provides hope," he said.

The agenda includes goals like ending the migrant crisis, defending parental rights, and calling for government accountability. Senator Jake Ashby emphasized reducing housing and childcare costs while restoring public safety.

Senator George Borrello pointed to sanctuary laws and climate mandates as strains on taxpayers. "It's time to restore affordability, prioritize safety," he said. Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick echoed these sentiments against cashless bail and open-door policies.

Senator Steve Chan remarked on short-sighted policies turning cities into "the laughing stock of this country," while Senator Patrick Gallivan called for a more sustainable clean energy plan that shields taxpayers.

Several senators voiced concerns about one-party rule's impact on taxes and public safety. Senator Joseph Griffo offered solutions for strengthening the state's economy and infrastructure. Senator Pam Helming advocated for reforms to reset the state’s priorities.

Other senators like Jack Martins expressed frustration with Governor Hochul's policies not prioritizing New Yorkers' needs. Mario R. Mattera stressed making changes that residents deserve.

Dean Murray criticized Senate Democrats’ focus on woke policies instead of addressing safety concerns. Peter Oberacker promoted common-sense solutions to address challenges faced by everyday New Yorkers.

Tom O’Mara mentioned unmet challenges due to state government's current direction. Anthony Palumbo urged abandoning radical ideas in favor of real solutions.

Steven Rhoads emphasized reversing harmful policies through the "Liberate New York" plan aimed at a better future. Rob Rolison reiterated commitment to restoring common-sense measures for community protection.

Dan Stec advocated reforms against illegal immigration and crime policies seen from current leadership. Jim Tedisco highlighted over-taxation issues leading to an exodus from New York.

Mark Walczyk addressed tax burdens imposed by Democrats while Bill Weber focused on safeguarding home rule and fair wages for care workers. Alexis Weik concluded by stressing the need to address cost-of-living issues created by the Democrat majority driving residents away from the state.
