Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has reintroduced the Susan Muffley Act of 2025, aiming to restore pensions for over 21,000 Delphi Salaried Retirees. This bipartisan effort is co-sponsored by several representatives, including Mike Turner, Marcy Kaptur, and Gwen Moore.

The act is named in memory of a Delphi retiree’s late wife and seeks to address pension reductions following Delphi’s bankruptcy. “In 2009, the Obama administration unjustly stripped over 20,000 Delphi workers of their hard-earned pensions,” stated Congresswoman Tenney. She emphasized her commitment to correcting this injustice for affected retirees, particularly the 2,300 in Western and Central New York.

Congressman Turner expressed optimism about bipartisan support: “I have remained steadfast in my fight to restore the pensions of Delphi Salaried Retirees.” Congresswoman Kaptur highlighted the importance of fulfilling promises made to American workers: “By reinstating earned retirement benefits, we ensure a brighter future for thousands of retirees.”

Congresswoman Moore added her support: “It’s past overdue for Delphi salaried workers to be made whole through the restoration of their pensions.”

Tenney has been actively involved in legislative efforts regarding this issue. Her actions include voting for the act when it passed the House in July 2022 and urging Senate support. She also led initiatives to include the act in legislative measures such as the FY2023 Omnibus.
