Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, representing New York’s 24th district, cast her vote in favor of a short-term funding bill designed to keep the federal government operational until March 14, 2025. The bill, known as H.R. 10545 – Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025, passed the House with a decisive vote count of 366-34.

Tenney expressed that “in November, the American people overwhelmingly rejected the Biden administration and Senate Democrats’ reckless spending,” highlighting concerns about economic impacts and national debt. She noted that voters have demanded a fiscally responsible budget from Republicans.

The Congresswoman emphasized the importance of passing this short-term Continuing Resolution to prevent a government shutdown under President Biden’s administration. “With Republicans set to have a majority in Congress and President Trump set to return to the White House in 2025,” she stated, there will be opportunities to implement conservative priorities.

The legislation includes $10 billion for economic assistance aimed at farmers dealing with various challenges while extending current farm bill programs through September 30, 2025. Tenney pointed out that a shutdown would negatively affect military families and hinder border security efforts.

“House Republicans have already begun working on implementing policies necessary to usher in a new era of leadership,” Tenney remarked. The focus is on economic growth, reducing inflation by cutting taxes and wasteful spending, securing borders, and enhancing energy independence.
