Happy Thanksgiving! Follow these food safety tips when preparing your turkey this year:
Thaw your turkey in the refrigerator, not on the kitchen counter.
Do not wash your turkey, washing can spread the juice from the raw turkey and contaminate other surfaces.
Cook your turkey to 165 degrees Fahrenheit, cook stuffing separately to ensure it is completely cooked. Use a food testing thermometer to check temperatures.
Refrigerate any leftovers as soon as possible but no longer than 2 hours after your meal.
