Washington, DC – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) today voted in favor H.J.Res 39, which would repeal the Biden Administration’s harmful Solar Emergency Declaration.
Tenney was an original co-sponsor of this bipartisan bill, which passed the House by a vote of 221-202.
In June 2022, President Biden issued an unprecedented Emergency Declaration, which allowed Chinese solar product manufacturers to flood our economy with unfairly traded solar products with no additional tariffs for two years.
Motivated by the “Green New Deal Agenda,” this rule will have serious ramifications for American jobs spanning a wide range of industries that rely on U.S. trade laws to fairly compete with China.
"I was honored to champion this resolution as an original cosponsor and to support its passage today. We must overturn President Biden’s harmful rule that allows Chinese solar manufacturers to skirt U.S. trade laws, harming American businesses and manufacturing workers,” said Congresswoman Tenney. “By allowing Chinese solar product manufacturers to flood our economy with unfairly traded products, Biden’s rule undermines our trade laws and the principle of fair competition. I urge the Senate to take up this resolution immediately and join us in standing up for American workers and businesses."
