Rep. Claudia Tenney, a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 24th district, recently expressed her views on several pressing issues through social media posts. Her statements addressed incidents of anti-Semitic vandalism, political discrimination in disaster relief, and the consequences of criminal justice policies.
On November 19, 2024, Rep. Tenney commended the University of Rochester for its response to anti-Semitic acts on campus. She stated, "While many universities across the country have failed to protect Jewish students, I am pleased that @UofR has arrested four individuals for their anti-Semitic vandalism."
In a subsequent post dated November 20, 2024, Rep. Tenney criticized the Democratic Party's handling of disaster relief resources. She remarked that Democrats are allegedly discriminating against supporters of former President Trump by withholding FEMA assistance from them: "For years, Democrats have vilified millions of Americans who support President Trump. Now, they’re denying FEMA resources to natural disaster victims." She emphasized that political affiliation should not influence access to aid: "Your political affiliation SHOULD NEVER determine your access to disaster relief."
Later on November 20, Rep. Tenney addressed a tragic incident involving Jose Ibarra and Laken Riley. According to her post, Albany Democrats compelled the NYPD to release Ibarra before he committed murder: "The NYPD was forced by Albany Democrats to free Jose Ibarra before he murdered Laken Riley." She attributed Riley's death to what she perceives as flawed policies under President Biden and Governor Hochul: "Laken Riley's death is a direct result of Biden & Hochul's dangerous policies."
