Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has announced the commencement of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. The competition is open to high school students residing in New York's 24th Congressional District.
Since its inception in 1982, the Congressional Art Competition has been an annual event held each spring to recognize and celebrate young artistic talent across the United States. Congresswoman Tenney invites students from her district to participate in this long-standing tradition. A panel of experts from NY-24 will evaluate submissions, with the winning piece displayed in the United States Capitol for a year.
In 2024, more than 30 submissions were received from high school students throughout New York's 24th Congressional District.
The competition accepts various art forms including paintings (oil, acrylics, watercolor), drawings (colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels, charcoal), two-dimensional collages, prints (lithographs, silkscreen, block prints), mixed media using more than two mediums such as pencil and watercolor, computer-generated art, and photographs.
Submissions must be delivered to one of Congresswoman Tenney's district offices between April 14th and April 18th, 2025. Required paperwork must accompany all artwork.
