Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has been appointed to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI). This committee, established in 1977, oversees the U.S. Intelligence Community and related government activities, including the Military Intelligence Program.

Tenney expressed her gratitude for the appointment and emphasized her commitment to national security. "I am honored to have been named to serve on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence for the 119th Congress, and thank Speaker Johnson for this prestigious appointment," she stated. She highlighted the importance of facilities like Fort Drum, Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, and Rome Lab in upstate New York as critical national security assets.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson commented on the significance of intelligence oversight in today's global environment. “In an increasingly dangerous world with hot wars around the globe, multi-faceted threats from China, and terrorists within our borders, the mission of our intelligence community is vitally important," he said. He underscored Congress's role in ensuring these systems protect American interests while adhering to constitutional principles.

Tenney looks forward to collaborating with President Trump, Speaker Johnson, HPSCI Chairman Crawford, and fellow committee members to enhance defense capabilities and maintain essential oversight over intelligence operations.
