Claudia Tenney calls for UN arms embargo against Myanmar on coup anniversary

Rep. Claudia Tenney, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 24th district, shared a series of updates on her official Twitter account. The tweets cover a range of topics including international human rights issues, local law enforcement developments, and community events.

On February 1, 2025, Rep. Tenney marked the anniversary of the Tatmadaw coup in Burma by stating: "On the solemn anniversary of the Tatmadaw coup in Burma, we remember this tragic day and the brutal crackdown that followed, marked by grave human rights violations." She announced plans to reintroduce a resolution for an immediate UN Arms Embargo against Myanmar.

Later that day, she acknowledged local law enforcement news: "This week, the Seneca County Sheriff's office welcomed a new member to their team, K-9 Frank!" The new K-9 was named in honor of retired Deputy Frank Eldredge Sr., recognizing his contributions before his passing in 2023.

On February 2, 2025, Rep. Tenney highlighted community resilience and support for first responders: "Our team attended the Village of Dundee Volunteer Fire Department annual banquet to celebrate their accomplishments." She emphasized the importance and bravery of first responders following a recent fire incident in Ovid.
