Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has introduced legislation to establish June 14 as a federal holiday named "Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day." This proposed holiday would commemorate the birthday of President Donald J. Trump, who was born on June 14, 1946, and coincides with Flag Day. Flag Day annually marks the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official U.S. flag in 1777.
Tenney stated, "No modern president has been more pivotal for our country than Donald J. Trump. As both our 45th and 47th President, he is the most consequential President in modern American history, leading our country at a time of great international and domestic turmoil." She highlighted Trump's achievements such as brokering the Abraham Accords and championing significant tax relief measures.
The bill aims to recognize Trump's contributions by adding his birthday to the list of federal holidays alongside George Washington's Birthday. Tenney also emphasized that this holiday would honor both Trump’s legacy and the significance of the American Flag as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.
