NIAGARA COUNTY: June 3 COVID-19 Update

Niagara County issued the following announcement on June 3.

The Niagara County Department of Health issued the following update on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County: 

  • 6 new positive cases
  • Total of 1090 positives to date (isolations + recoveries + deaths)
  • 214 active cases (202 isolating at home, 12 in hospital)
  • 806 recovered
  • 70 deaths (no change)
  • 14,708 people tested (source: https://covid19tracker.health.ny.gov/)       
Quarantines, unlike isolations, are for people who are well and not showing symptoms, but may have been exposed to the virus.  Right now, 174 people are in quarantine and 903 have completed quarantine.

Niagara County Legislature Chairman Becky Wydysh will provide an update on COVID-19 today at 2 p.m.  The update will be live on LCTV and streamed at lctv.net.    This broadcast will then be available later in the day in LCTV’s on-demand library under “Niagara County Legislature” and on the county’s Facebook page.
