Niagara County issued the following announcement on July 17.
The Niagara County Department of Health issued the following update on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County:
We regretfully report the death of an 86 year-old female with underlying health conditions. We extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends.
The rest of the update is as follows:
• 5 new positive cases
• Total of 1373 positives to date (isolations + recoveries + deaths)
• 44 active cases (44 isolating at home, 0 in hospital)
• 1233 recovered
• 96 deaths
• 43,198 people tested (source: https://covid19tracker.health.ny.gov/ )
Quarantines, unlike isolations, are for people who are well and not showing symptoms, but may have been exposed to the virus. Right now, 178 people are in quarantine and 1256 have completed quarantine.
